Kaloti Precious Metals is a quality company that has grown to become a globally integrated precious metals services firm. This will benefit large commercial, institutional, and wholesale customers more than individual investors. While they produce a wide range of their own bullion bar and ingot products, they do not carry popular national bullion coins or competitor bullion bars.

Kaloti Precious Metals Company Info & Background

Kaloti Precious Metals was founded in 1988. In a little more than 25 years, it has subsequently grown into one of the world leaders in the arena of fully integrated precious metals services. In three decades, the name Kaloti has become equated with purity and quality. Today the Kaloti Precious Metals company has grown to be among the largest and most important precious metals outfits in the United Arab Emirates.

As of 2011, they were responsible for delivering fully 40 percent of the gold imports to Dubai the “city of Gold” and for handling 25 percent of all gold turnover. Since 2015, they refine an incredible 1,400 tons of gold per year in their Dubai and Sharjah refineries. Their branded bullion bars and ingots are sold throughout the Middle East alongside gold jewelry.

Today’s Kaloti Precious Metals has grown from its days as a single shop in the gold souk to among the planet’s biggest privately held precious metals and gold refineries and trading operations. They boast customers throughout the world and a worldwide sphere of influence thanks to their 9 offices in 6 countries. The headquarters are locally based in Dubai and operate through the DMCC Dubai Multi Commodities Center.

From this base, they have branched out into all of the various aspects of providing quality precious metals products and services covering assaying, refining, minting and producing, financing, and trading gold, silver, and platinum bars and more. They also specialize in scrap and mined gold funding and precious metals recovery.

Kaloti Precious Metals Milestones

Kaloti is first and foremost a family business of the Kaloti’s. They started out in the wholesale jewelry manufacturing business in 1988. Their first shop in the Dubai gold souk purchased local scrap gold to refine and transform it to quality jewelry. By the 1990’s, they shifted their scope with the construction of their first Sharjah Emirate-based manufacturing factory. Their regional network grew apace.

In the year 2000, they completely transformed the business through starting a division in bullion trading. They converted the factory over to a dedicated bullion producing gold refinery. Services were rolled out to support the expanding bullion trading group. They transferred the company headquarters over to the DMCC in 2004. This cemented their transition to gold refining and bullion trading.

International expansion came in 2005 as they gained the certifications to produce and stamp their first branded kilogram gold bars. The Dubai good delivery bar achievement fueled their refining capacity and international expansion.

Kaloti Precious Metals Company Branches and Associates

The company has pursued an aggressive international expansion around not only the Middle East but also Asia and the Americas. Their branch offices and associates can be found in all of the following cities and countries:

  • Dubai, United Arab Emirates
  • Istanbul, Turkey
  • Singapore
  • Hong Kong, China
  • Miami, US
  • Paramaribo, Suriname
  • La Paz, Bolivia
  • Lima, Peru

In 2016 the company completed its Suriname gold refiner that produces 60 tons of gold per year. Their 2015 completed refining facility in Dubai proves to be among the biggest precious metals and gold refineries on earth. It produces as much as 1,400 tons gold and 600 tons silver. It also features their mint division for producing ingots and coins.

Kaloti Precious Metals Company Services

Kaloti Precious Metals offers an array of services that mostly benefit large industrial and commercial customers. These services make it among the select few companies that both trade and refine metals. This starts with refining and assaying metals and extends to trading and financing them. Among their standout services are the following:

  • 24 hours per day, 7 days per week trading platforms and dealing desks
  • Real time settlement of payments
  • Online international network of branches and subsidiaries – permitting around the clock access to markets and  transactions
  • A special network for global shipping logistics and decades of precious metals transporting experience
  • Immediate payment on gold delivery
  • Refinery services and operations around the clock
  • Assay result deliveries in a day on request

Kaloti does not promote services in storing bullion for customers, something that all of their major competitors do.

Retail and Wholesale Gold and Silver

The company focuses heavily on retailing gold and silver bullion from its mint house and wholesaling jewelry to stores. Their wholesale business handles the company full range of in-house minted bars, ingots, and medallions/coins. They produce their own jewelry on site. Kaloti’s retail investment group also inventories a substantial quantity of gold and jewelry imports.

Nations from which they import are primarily Italy, India, China, Hong Kong, Bahrain, and South Korea. This provides commercial operations and retailers with a great range of jewelry products. It does not deliver the variety of coins and bullion bars for investors that some of Kaloti’s competitors do though.

Kaloti Precious Metals Company Products

One of the weaknesses of Kaloti is that they do not carry bullion coins and bars which are not their own make. They do provide a decent range of their own bullion bar and ingot products, which is their primary focus. In gold bars and ingots they offer:

  • Minted bars ranging from one gram to 100 grams
  • Cast bars starting at 100 grams and going up to 12.5 kilograms
  • Gold ingots which come in a range of sizes including one, five, and 20 grams, an ounce, fifty grams, and one hundred grams. A standout feature is that customers can buy them in completely tamper-proof guaranteed packages
